GHC Development renovates its communities to Class-A standards in an efficient and cost effective manner.
GHC utilizes top design and construction methods to create comfortable, high-quality living environments for our residents.
We are able to breathe life into tired buildings by leveraging our unmatched infrastructure, maintaining realistic budgets,
and maximizing our team’s collective talents. Renovations are typically completed within six to nine months with residents remaining in place, a difficult feat that ensures residents’ comfort and satisfaction.
GHC completed a full renovation of 1825 Mission while ensuring all residents were
able to remain in their homes during and after the rehab of the property.
The lobby and lounge areas were designed to facilitate socializing
and create a communal atmosphere for residents.
Brand new composite wood flooring was installed throughout.
A new business center was provided to supplement the technology
education services that are available to residents.
The previous bathroom faucets and shower heads
were replaced with water-efficient fixtures.
The kitchen was refreshed with energy-efficient
appliances and solid surface countertops.
New energy efficient lighting was installed throughout the property.
GHC worked with the nonprofit seller of St. Francis Apartments so it could utilize
the funds for a local food bank. Non-profits seek GHC as a buyer because we are
affordable housing preservationists with a strong focus on resident services.
The dining and common rooms were renovated to create a sense of
community during the daily meals that are provided to residents.
The library was created to provide senior residents a community
resource in which they could relax and read.
The renovated lobby and office space provides management staff and the
Service Coordinator a better environment in which to meet residents.
Underutilized space was transformed into a movie theater for residents’ use.
New fitness center with equipment supplements the
health education provided by the staff.
Kitchens were upgraded with solid surface countertops,
energy efficient appliances and new cabinets.
In addition to new sinks, flooring and cabinetry, water-efficient
fixtures and low-flow toilets were installed in the bathrooms.
Bicentennial Towers is in Midtown Detroit, the neighborhood leading Detroit’s renaissance.
GHC’s reinvestment improved the living environment for residents and preserved affordable
housing in the neighborhood for years to come.
Recreational, health and educational programming is hosted
in Bicentennial’s renovated community room.
The lobby, library, theater room, and fitness center were designed
to provide tenants plenty of recreational options onsite.
Units were renovated with new flooring, paint
and energy efficient light fixtures.
Stainless steel appliances were installed in each
kitchen along with custom cabinetry.
Water-efficient fixtures and cabinetry were installed in bathrooms.
Several units were upgraded to meet current ADA standards.
Light fixtures throughout the site were upgraded to be more energy efficient.
GHC renovated South Village using tax exempt bonds and Low Income Housing
Tax Credits to provide high-quality housing for its senior residents.
The community garden supplements the nutriJonal programming at the property
and provides residents the opportunity to grow their own vegetables.
The picnic area provides tenants additional options
for outdoor lounging and leisure.
The new computer center enables residents to learn more about
technology while improving their access to services.
